- Samsung Health and Huawei Health do not offer native support to sync data between each other.
- Neither app allows direct access to each other’s data due to brand restrictions and system limitations.
Why can’t they sync with each other? Here are the main reasons:
- Proprietary Platforms
- Huawei Health and Samsung Health are closed ecosystems.
- They do not publicly expose APIs that allow other major platforms (like each other) to access or write health data.
- Samsung Blocks Step Data Input
- In 2020, Samsung blocked all third-party apps (including Health Sync) from writing step count data into Samsung Health.
- That means no app — not even Health Sync — can insert step data from Huawei Health (or any source) into Samsung Health.
Health Sync Workaround (Partial Sync Only)
- You can use the third-party app Health Sync to send data from Huawei Health → Samsung Health.
- But only limited data types are supported:
✅ Heart Rate
✅ Sleep Data
✅ Workouts/Activities (including GPS tracking)
❌ Steps — not supported - Samsung Health will accept the data listed above, but not step counts.
Can I Still Use Health Sync?
Yes—but with limitations:
- Health Sync allows partial sync from Huawei Health → Samsung Health.
- You must grant full permissions in both Huawei Health and Samsung Health, and allow background activity.
- Data will sync periodically, but steps will always be excluded due to Samsung’s policy.
