If your steps or workouts aren’t appearing in +Health Challenges after linking Health Connect, no worries—sometimes settings need a quick tweak. Here’s your handy troubleshoot guide:
✅ Step 1: Double‑check Health Connect Permissions
Your app needs both read and write access to Health Connect. Here’s how to check:
- Open the Health Connect app on your phone.
- Tap App permissions under “Permissions and data.”
- Scan the list—make sure your tracking app is allowed to both read and write activity data.
- Don’t see your app? Use the Find button (top right) to search. ⚙️
If permissions are off, toggle them back on, then go back to your app and re-enable sync—it often kicks things back into gear.
⚡ Step 2: Resolve Data Overlaps (Priority Settings)
Sometimes multiple apps feed the same info into Health Connect, like step count, and duplicates get shuffled around based on “priority.”
Want +Health Challenges to see the right data? Here’s how to make your preferred app top of the list:
On Android 14+:
- Go to Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Health Connect → Manage Data → Data sources and priority.
- Tap a data type (e.g., Steps), then drag your preferred app to the top.
On Android 13 or earlier:
- Open Settings → Apps → All apps → Health Connect → Open → Manage Data → Data sources and priority.
- Pick your category and drag your app to the top.
🗑️ Step 3: Remove Extra Permissions (Optional but Helpful)
If you want to keep things clean and avoid confusion:
- Open Health Connect → App permissions.
- Pick an app that’s currently writing data, and toggle permissions off for that category.
- You can also select “Remove access for all apps” at the bottom to reset everything.
