Using a Huawei fitness tracker and want that activity to count in your +Health Challenges app on Android? What you will need is a couple of apps and connections between them, and you’re set. Here’s how to make it work:
🔗 Step 1: Connect Huawei Health to Google Fit using Health Sync
Here’s how to get your Huawei Watch data into Google Fit:
- Install the following apps (if you haven’t already):
- Huawei Health (via Huawei AppGallery)
- Google Fit (from Google Play Store)
- Google Connect (from Google Play Store, which is accessible from your settings)
- Health Sync (from Google Play Store)
2. Sync your wearable device with your phone in the Huawei app, follow its directions.
3. Open Health Sync and allow its permissions and choose to sync from Huawei Health app, to Google Fit (not google connect)
(Note: Health sync is a paid platform, it will ask you either a monthly charge or a one time charge after a 7 day grace period)
📲 Step 2: Make Sure Google Fit is Talking to +Health Challenges
1. Open Google connect from your system settings
- In settings, use the search bar to find “Health Connect” and verify that the app permissions section has allowed access to +Health Challenges, Google Fit, and Health Sync.
First Launch?
On first launch, your +Health Challenges app will ask you to allow permissions, select allow, then it will direct you to setup devices, Settings → Device Setup.
Make sure to toggle ‘Google Health Connect’ on and select the data points (Steps, Active minutes, Walk distance, etc.) you want to sync.
Already in Challenges?
If your +Health Challenges app is already in use, simply launch the app, tap the ‘Settings’ gear at the top/right of your home screen, navigate to the setup devices section and toggle ‘Google Health Connect’ on.
Select all the data points (Steps, Active minutes, Walk distance, etc.) you’d like to sync.
Click Save—and you’re all set!
🔄 Step 3: Verify that Sync works with Health Sync
Open health sync and work through the settings to verify that the automatic syncing is on, the phone might automatically put it battery optimization, where it wont sync when the phone is turned off, verify that is not the case and the data should move fluidly between your wearable to the +Health Challenge app
💪 You’re good to go! Now every step from your Huawei Watch helps you crush those +Health Challenges.
