What engagement strategies work best?

Q: What engagement and adoption strategies have worked best for other clients?

Over many client rollouts, a few approaches consistently stand out. Here are the ones we recommend most.

Start with a small group of influencers.
Piloting with a close-knit group of influencers or managers is one of the best ways to introduce the platform to a community. These early participants don’t just learn the platform — they become evangelists for it, mentor their colleagues, and often give us genuinely constructive feedback along the way.

Overlap your challenges.
Because there are no per-challenge charges, many clients run two or three challenges at once. We’ve seen this work beautifully: it cross-pollinates participants between challenges and showcases the variety of formats on offer. Both effects give a real lift to engagement and daily utilization.

Make the prizes count.
Nothing drives engagement and friendly competition like a solid first, second, and third prize. Our in-app leaderboards give participants a real-time view of their progress — and a reason to encourage colleagues to climb the standings alongside them.

Use notifications intentionally.
The platform lets you send notifications to the whole community, to challenge participants, or even to individuals. We’ve found that team-lead–delivered notifications really boost engagement at the start and finish of a challenge. Client admins can watch daily activity and send messages as they see fit — and an engaged challenge leader genuinely brings the whole experience to life.

The common thread? A little human energy behind the platform. The tools do a lot on their own, but the clients who see the strongest results pair them with an enthusiastic challenge leader who champions participation.

Want that human layer handled for you? Our Concierge Services team can design, launch, and run challenges — including the comms and engagement nudges above — so momentum doesn’t rest on any one person’s plate.
