Using a Huawei fitness tracker and want those steps to count in your +Health Challenges app on your iPhone? It’s totally doable—just a few connections and you’re all set. Here’s how to make it work:
👟 First things first: Can Huawei sync directly with +Health Challenges?
Not exactly. The +Health Challenges app pulls step data from Apple Health—not Huawei Health directly. But the good news? If you can get your Huawei Health app to talk to Apple Health, you’re in business. Once the steps show up in Apple Health, they’ll flow right into +Health Challenges. 🌀
🔗 Step 1: Connect Huawei Health to Apple Health
When you’re installing Huawei Health for the first time:
- You’ll be asked if you want to sync with HealthKit (aka Apple Health).
- Tap: Let’s go → Turn All Categories On → Allow
✅ You’re now synced.
Already installed Huawei Health but not sure if it’s linked?
No worries—here’s how to check:
- Open the Apple Health app.
- Tap Steps (from your summary).
- Scroll to Data Sources & Access.
- Make sure Huawei Health is listed and turned ON under “Apps Allowed to Read Data.”
If it’s not showing up, reinstalling Huawei Health or checking permissions via your iPhone Settings can help.
📲 Step 2: Make Sure Apple Health is Talking to +Health Challenges
With Huawei Health now feeding steps into Apple Health, you’re halfway there!
First Launch?
On first launch, your +Health Challenges app will ask you to connect devices and direct you to you Settings → Device Setup. Make sure to toggle ‘Apple Health’ on and select all the data points (Steps, Active energy, Walk distance, etc.) you would like to synch.
Already in Challenges?
If your +Health Challenges app is already in use, simply launch the app, touch on the ‘Settings’ gear at the top/right of your home screen and make sure to toggle ‘Apple Health’ on and select all the data points (Steps, Active energy, Walk distance, etc.) you would like to synch.
Click Save and your set!
🔄 Step 3: Sync Steps Like a Pro
Here’s your 3-part sync routine:
- Open Huawei Health – to make sure your tracker sends fresh data.
- Open Apple Health – this gets the info flowing.
- Open +Health Challenges – your step count should now reflect the update.
You got this! Get those steps synced and keep moving 💪
